The mermaids of popular lore are most often depicted as beautiful, bewitching, singing maidens, but what if there are those who live deeper in the depths? Those who don’t enjoy the light of the sun or play in the waves? What if there are others, so far from the surface that the crushing pressure of the ocean above has turned them into horrifying creatures so gruesome that it curls the hair of any land dweller to lay eyes on it?
Inspired by the angler fish and other sea life that lives in the deep dark parts of the ocean, this androgynous fish queen/king will lure even the most fearless seafarers to their doom.
